Lotions we sell are different from lotions you buy in a store. Today’s indoor tanning lotions are bio-engineered to maximize the results of your tanning visit, while increasing the quality of your tan. Moist nourished skin tans best. Indoor lotions are designed to supply your skin with the essential nutrients necessary for a tan. These special ingredients also moisturize your skin to keep it looking young and healthy.
Never tan dry! Dry skin requires 7 minutes for UV light to penetrate the skin and build melanin for a tanning bed to be effective. Using the proper accelerator for your skin type allows UV light to penetrate and start the process in under a minute.
If you reach a tanning plateau there are a few simple solutions – lotion rotation and alternating tanning equipment. Your body can build up a tolerance and once you switch lotions and/or alternate between different types of tanning equipment, you will burst through your tanning plateau.
Once you have taken the time to achieve your tan, protect and extend the life of it with the latest moisturizers.
Protect Your Eyes … Simply closing your eyes or wearing outdoor sunglasses while you tan is not adequate protection against possible long term eye injury. You must wear FDA-compliant eye protection available in the salon can eliminate the risk.
Tan once or twice a week and use a variety of equipment to keep your tan looking natural and dark. Each level emits a different ratio of both UVA/UVB which is essential to a dark long lasting tan. Ask your tanning consultant for a plan that is tailored for you.
Whats Better? High-Pressure or Low-Pressure tanning? Studies show a combination of low pressure tanning with high pressure tanning produce the best and fastest results. High Pressure lamps are the fastest : a base tan can be established in as few as one to three visits, compared to ten or more visits in a low pressure unit.
